A Window into Elmhurst History

Artist: Katy Costello

With Elmhurst’s updated theater, restaurants, library and more, it’s easy for us Elmhurst residents and visitors to forget the amazing history that surrounds us. It’s easy to forget that our kids attend a high school that has been open for 100 years. When we sit in the new comfy seats at the latest Avengers movie, it’s easy to forget that the York Theater has been open since 1924. And when we wait for the Metra to take us to the city for a Cubs game, it’s easy to forget that the railroad we are traveling on was built 170 years ago!
