After waiting patiently to see if the slow spring market was a reaction to a hard and long-lasting winter or just a blip on the radar, we have reached the half-way mark of the year. As we discussed in our spring market update for 2019, 2019 started off very slow, and our “typical” spring market never “sprung”.
After reviewing the June numbers from the MLS, we are still seeing a slight trend down in Median Sales Price in Elmhurst and up in Elmhurst’s Months Supply of Homes for Sale.
While those are not the numbers we had hoped for overall, the late spring/early summer numbers were on par when compared to 2016 and 2017. For instance when reviewing statistics around contracts written (Under Contract) and Median Sales Price.
We commonly see a flat or slightly down market, in Elmhurst, after periods of sharp gain.
