New Boundary Locator Tool!

Edison? Hawthorne? Jefferson? Emerson? Regardless of which of the 8 elementary schools or 3 middle schools Elmhurst children attend, they will get an exceptional education with stellar teachers and strong parent and community involvement.

Which school would my kids attend? It’s a question any parent (or soon-to-be parent!) buying a new house will ask.

“A recent realtor.com® survey of people who closed on a home this year found that 73% said buying in a good school district was ‘important’ in their search.”

Washington Post

Lucky for anyone considering moving to or within Elmhurst, you can’t go wrong with any Elmhurst school!

Regardless, potential buyers should always understand school boundary lines and know which schools children living in a particular house will attend, especially when moving to a town with changing boundaries.

New District 205 Boundaries

On March 19, 2019, the Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205 school board voted to approve minor boundary adjustments in an effort to balance class sizes across the district.

The new boundaries only impact families who purchase homes in Elmhurst on or after June 1, 2022.

Families who purchase(d) their homes prior to the June 2022 deadline and live in areas with new boundaries will have a choice to adhere to the old boundaries or the new ones. See the district’s online boundary info for details.

Address Locator Tool

District 205 created the Address Locator Tool to help current homeowners and people who are considering moving to or within Elmhurst determine which Elmhurst elementary and middle schools their children would attend. This easy-to-use tool clearly identifies boundary lines. All high school students within the District 205 area attend York Community High School.
