Outdoor living spaces continue to be one of the hottest trends in home improvement. Today’s outdoor living areas extend far beyond a simple deck or patio with a picnic table, Weber grill, and a few deck chairs. A trendy outdoor living area brings the inside out - for pretty much every room of the house.
Bringing kitchen elements from indoors to out is not new, but today’s outdoor kitchens far exceed even the most souped-up Father’s Day grill. A kitchen in an outdoor living area in 2022 is likely to include grills and/or smokers, yes, but also flat tops and pizza ovens. Outdoor cooking prep areas might include sinks, granite countertops, and storage areas with refrigerators, icemakers, and specialized beer and wine coolers/fridges.
Meals cooked in the outdoor kitchen might be served on a firepit table in an outdoor living room. Guests enjoy their meal seated in comfortable seating complete with throw pillows, possibly listening to music played on an outdoor stereo system or watching a movie shown on an outdoor projector. A charging station keeps devices streaming music or movies charged up and ready to go.
At the end of the night, after the guests have gone home, there’s no need to head inside to go to bed. Some outdoor living spaces feature hammocks or even hanging beds.
From the kitchen to the living room to the bedroom, today’s outdoor living spaces bring the inside out.
