First Impressions

Curb appeal says it all! Invest in keeping your exterior updated, including lighting, front door, and your home's facade. Ensure that the landscaping and path to the home are inviting. 

Working Order

Before upgrading backsplashes, cabinetry and countertops, be sure to address any issues that potential homeowners would find distressing, including water spots or damage that indicate leaks; and cracks in walls and floors. 


While upgraded appliances appeal to potential homeowners, these days it's about more than the fanciest new stovetop or fridge. Homeowners are more and more interested in efficiency. If you're investing in new appliances, evaluate the efficiency of kitchen appliances along with whole-house systems like water heaters and heating and cooling systems. And while you're at it, inspect your windows and insulation.

Good lighting shows of your home's most appealing traits. Lighting creates a feeling and an ambiance that buyers appreciate. Try to achieve as much natural lighting as possible. When natural lighting is insufficient, consider investing in other lighting options.


Open space plans have become more and more appealing to the modern buyer. Families appreciate having an open area without walls blocking interactions, especially between the kitchen and family areas. Check with your real estate agent to see if tearing down walls makes sense in your community. 


We've already mentioned curb appeal. Remember your other outdoor spaces, too. A welcoming backyard with seating and a firepit can help families envision themselves enjoying the outdoor space. Address outside nooks and balconies, too. While keeping it clean and clutter-free, a simple chair and table with a plant can make a little outside nook go from wasted space to an area inviting people to chat or relax.
